Vinyl siding, gutters and doors – easy fixes
We recently completed a small vinyl siding renovation project for the Cristinzio family in Silver Spring. New vinyl siding, soffits, gutters and two new energy efficient exterior doors along with a new storm door with a retractable screen. Apart from the time to wait for the doors to come in, all the work was completed in about a week, with very little disruption to the family’s daily schedule.
Most vinyl siding jobs can be completed within several days and can have a dramatic effect on the appearance of one’s home. Vinyl siding comes in different widths and thickness, some vinyl siding is backed with insulation for greater R-value.Gutters are usually installed in half a day and are seamless with hidden hangers in 5″ and 6″ widths. Doors, due to the lead-time for special orders, can take 2-3 weeks but still install within a day. If you have a standard size door, (36″ x 80″), many styles are available from local distributors cutting that lead-time down to a day or two.
